What is oral microbiome care?
Oral microbiome care means supporting the balance of the bacteria that live in the mouth rather than trying to sterilise it. ApaCare OraLactin does that with pre- and postbiotics in the toothpaste and rinse, and with named live cultures in the sachets and lozenges — while hydroxyapatite and fluoride continue to look after the enamel.

What is ApaCare OraLactin?
- ApaCare OraLactin is ApaCare's oral microbiome range: a probiotic toothpaste, a probiotic mouth rinse, powder sachets and chewable lozenges. Each product combines pre- and postbiotics or named live cultures with ApaCare's hydroxyapatite thinking, so the bacteria in the mouth and the enamel itself are cared for together.
Which live cultures does OraLactin use?
- The sachets contain three named strains: Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11 and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell-175. The lozenges deliver at least one billion probiotic microorganisms per lozenge from three selected strains.
Why does the oral microbiome matter?
- Bad breath, gum inflammation and recurring cavities frequently start with an imbalance in the bacteria living in the mouth. Supporting the balance of that microbiome addresses the cause rather than masking the symptom, which is why OraLactin sits alongside enamel care rather than replacing it.
How long before OraLactin makes a difference?
- Regular daily use is what counts. The lozenges are recommended for at least 14 days and ideally as a 30-day course; the sachet pack is a 30-day course by design. The toothpaste and mouth rinse are everyday products used twice daily.
Can OraLactin be used alongside professional dental cleaning?
- Yes. The lozenges in particular are suited to use before, during and after professional cleaning, and the rinse and toothpaste can continue as the daily routine at home.
Is OraLactin suitable for children?
- The OraLactin mouth rinse is suitable for adults and children from 6 years of age. The toothpaste is suitable for the whole family, with a pea-sized amount and supervised brushing for children up to 6.
